1.9B+ company records: what is actually in the database
Clapleads Atlas holds more than 1.9 billion company records. That is a big number, so this post explains what is behind it in plain terms.
What a record can hold
A company record can include:
- Company name and website
- Country, state or province, and city
- Industry keywords
- Company size band (an employee-count range)
- A short description, where available
Some internal records may link to business contacts, but paid exports are organization-only by default and exclude contact, person, and professional-profile fields unless a deployment has a separate counsel-approved basis for enabling them.
Where the data comes from
The database is built from public and openly-published business information. We do not list every operational source in marketing copy, but the data-sources page explains source categories, attribution duties, and export restrictions. What we can say clearly:
- The data is business data, gathered for business-to-business use.
- Sources that do not allow resale, or whose provenance cannot be defended, are blocked from paid exports.
- Contact, person, and profile fields are disabled in paid exports by default.
An honest note on completeness
Not every record is complete. Some companies have a full profile; others have only a name and a country. Coverage is strongest for companies with a public web presence. We would rather tell you this than pretend every record is perfect.
Your rights over data about you
Anyone — customer or not — can act on data about them or their company:
- See, fix, or delete data through our data request portal. No account needed.
- Claim your company's profile through the claim profile page to manage how your company appears.
- Opt out of exports. Suppressed emails, domains, phones, names, and profile identifiers are enforced automatically.
