Understanding credits: search free, pay only for what you export
Every plan on Clapleads Atlas comes with monthly credits. The system is deliberately simple, and this post covers all of it.
The one rule
1 credit = 1 exported record. That is the whole pricing model. Searching, filtering, building ICPs, and running lookalike searches are free and unlimited on every plan. You only spend credits when you export records out of the platform — as CSV, JSON, or through a webhook.
How many credits you get
- Free — 50 credits per month
- Starter ($39/mo) — 1,000 credits per month
- Growth ($99/mo) — 5,000 credits per month
- Scale ($249/mo) — 20,000 credits per month
- Enterprise — custom
Prices shown are US prices; in many countries plans cost less under our regional pricing.
When credits reset
Credits reset at the start of each billing month. Unused credits do not roll over — a fresh month starts with a fresh balance. You can see your current balance and reset date any time in your billing settings.
Running out mid-month
If you hit zero, you have two options:
- Wait for your monthly reset.
- Upgrade. When you move to a bigger plan, the credit difference between plans is added right away — you do not wait for the next cycle.
Spending credits wisely
- Filter before you export. Searching is free, so do your narrowing in the platform, not in a spreadsheet afterward.
- Choose organization fields deliberately — no point spending credits on fields your workflow will not use.
- Export in batches. Pull 50 records, work them, learn, then pull the next batch with sharper filters.
The fine print, plainly
There is no trial that expires — the Free plan is just free, every month. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel, and you keep access until the end of what you paid for. The details live in our billing policy, written in the same plain language as this post.
