Lookalike search: find more companies like your best customers

Your best source of new customers is usually your current customers — not their referrals, but their shape. Lookalike search takes companies you pick and finds others that share their traits.

How it works (honestly)

You select one or more companies. The platform compares their traits — industry keywords, location, company size — and surfaces companies in the database that match the same pattern.

There is no magic here, and we will not pretend otherwise: it is statistical matching on real record fields, not a mind-reading AI. (We publish exactly what our automated features do and do not do in our AI & Automated Processing disclosure.) The result is still powerful: a fast way to expand a good list without rebuilding your filters from scratch.

When to use it

• You have happy customers. Feed in your five best and see who else looks like them.
• You found one perfect prospect. Use it as a seed to find its peers.
• Your filtered search ran dry. A lookalike pass often surfaces companies a keyword filter misses.

A simple workflow

• Pick 3–5 seed companies. Quality matters more than quantity.
• Run the lookalike search from the dashboard.
• Skim the results and remove the misses — no tool gets it right every time.
• Export the keepers. As always, 1 credit = 1 exported record, and searching is free.

Tips for better matches

• Use similar seeds. Five companies that resemble each other produce sharper matches than five random ones.
• Mind the region. If your seeds are all German, expect German-looking results; add seeds from other markets to widen the net.
• Combine with your ICP. Lookalike finds the shape; your ICP filters confirm the fit.
