Use case: a recruiting agency building target-company lists
Honesty first: Clapleads Atlas is a new platform, and we do not publish made-up customer stories. This is a playbook — a realistic walkthrough of how a recruiting agency could use the platform, step by step. Picture a small tech-recruiting agency that places software engineers and wants a sharper way to find client companies.
The problem
Recruiting agencies sell to companies that are hiring. The usual way to find them — job boards, LinkedIn browsing, word of mouth — is slow and one-at-a-time. What the agency really needs is a map: every company in its region, in its niche, at the right size to need outside recruiting help.
Step 1: Define the target
Using the ICP Builder, the agency writes down who it serves best. For example:
"Software and IT services companies in the DACH region with 50–500 employees."
That becomes a saved set of filters: industry keywords (software, IT services), countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), and the matching size bands.
Step 2: Build the universe
One search with those filters returns the agency's total addressable market — every matching company in the database. Searching is free, so the agency can take its time here: skim results, open profiles, tighten the industry keywords, and cut cities it does not serve.
Step 3: Segment before exporting
Instead of exporting everything at once, the agency splits the list into workable slices — for example, by country or by size band — and exports the first slice as CSV. One credit per exported record, so a 200-company slice costs 200 credits. The CSV imports straight into the agency's CRM or ATS.
Step 4: Research and reach out
The exported file gives each company's name, website, location, and similar organization-level details. Recruiters enrich the shortlist with their own research (open roles, recent news) and start outreach. Because the agency is the sender, the rules in our outreach and the law guide apply — real sender name, relevant pitch, easy opt-out.
Step 5: Expand with lookalikes
When a client signs, the agency feeds that client into lookalike search to find companies with the same shape — same industry, similar size, same region. Each happy client becomes a seed for the next slice of the map.
What to expect, honestly
- Record completeness varies; some companies have rich firmographic profiles and others have only basic registry facts.
- The map is the starting point, not the finish line — recruiters still qualify each company.
- Costs stay predictable: searching is free, and the agency only pays for the slices it exports.
A Starter plan ($39/mo, 1,000 credits) covers roughly a thousand exported companies a month — enough to keep a small outbound desk busy. See plans and your local price.
